Occupying the eastern half of Kent, as the name suggests, East Kent always had a close relationship with its neighbour, Maidstone and District, both once being BET subsidiaries. Nevertheless, they were separate companies, with different liveries, though a joint numbering scheme was adopted by the NBC. Note that, prior to c1980, East Kent did not use fleet numbers.

The West Midlands area services were lost to the PTE and, by 1985, the company was being hacked into four pieces. The new companies are included here.
